The best thing to do is educate yourself on personal safety and self defense. I have been doing this because it is hard to keep up with all four of my kids and wondering if I am doing my very best to keep them all safe.

In order to keep my valuables safe I use diversion safes. These safes will fool someone if they are rummaging through my house looking for something. I also use the computer activity tracking software often so that I know what kind of material my children are looking at and also what kinds of messages are coming in or being sent out.

I bring a pepper spray when I go out, with my children or not, and keep another in my car. They are the simplest things to use for personal safety – you spray, that\’s it. Pepper sprays are also good as bear and canine repellers.

In order to be responsible it is important to check the state or city restrictions when purchasing pepper sprays, stun batons or stun guns.
