Alcohol Abuse and Poisoning |
Alcohol abuse is a problem that has stayed with us forever. Each year thousands of people get in problems because of abuse, mainly because of lack of information, and because of a culture that often tells us is OK to drink a lot. Abuse can have harsh consequences.
Alcohol poisoning is a result of drinking more alcohol than the body can process. This condition can have serious effects on your health and in some cases it can even lead to death. This is not something to be taken lightly.
Poisoning from alcohol differs greatly from passing out, with poisoning, your brain enters a state of coma, and despite the hardest efforts of someone to wake you up, they wouldn’t have any success.
In this fact, lies the biggest danger of poisoning from alcohol. Each second you are in this state, is an elevation of the chances of ending up with severe brain damage and even death.
There is a part of the population who is more prone at having an alcohol poisoning problem, and it is our duty to spread this information to avoid more cases. Teenage and college students often abuse alcohol without knowing what it can lead to, and because of peer pressure.
Alcoholics also have a great danger of ending up dead. Since they often drink, the body develops a “resistance” to the symptoms of being drunk. So they keep drinking without being able to measure the amounts of alcohol in the blood. Small children can also end up in this problem out of curiosity.
Is this a common problem? Yes, these numbers reflect it: each year 50,000 cases of alcohol poisoning are reported just in USA, and it has been estimated that AT LEAST one person dies each week as a result.
This is a reflection on the state of “legal laws” in the Country, and how they have been so marketed that all fatal side effects are completely obviated.
The best way to avoid a problem of this kind is to have control over your alcohol intake, or even better – give up drinking alcoholic drinks.
